The first Muskoka Summit on the Environment in 2010 on Freshwater was put together by a team of local scientists that included many members of the Muskoka Watershed Council. Subsequent Summits were organized by a committee with representatives from MWC, The District Municipality of Muskoka, the Town of Bracebridge, and community members.
It has since become a highly anticipated event in this region and Muskoka Watershed Council is committed to continuing it into the future. Held biennially, this conference brings together top scientists and environmental advocates to present valuable research, engage policymakers, educate the public and promote funding for green initiatives. The collaborative efforts and conversations that take place at the Summit play a crucial role in safeguarding the health of ecosystems in Muskoka and beyond.
