Imagine Muskoka in 40 years—what do you see? Over 100 attendees joined us at the Muskoka Summit on the Environment 2024 to shape that future together and discovered how we can build a resilient environment that thrives amidst change.
This year’s full-day Muskoka Summit on the Environment took place on Friday, October 4th, at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre in Bracebridge. The central theme was Resilience, emphasizing the capacity of the watershed ecosystem to endure and recover from stress.
The summit delved into the necessity of a more advanced approach to environmental management and strived to involve all members of the community in this endeavour, acknowledging that government action alone is insufficient. The event featured multiple speakers, with dedicated time for questions and discussion, and included lunch, dinner, and a social hour.
The Summit featured five speakers as well as presentations by local secondary school students. Learn more about our speakers here.
